It features a classic combination of an unglazed or lightly washed iron-oxide brown stoneware base, contrasted by a prominent "pooled" green glass glaze (often called biidro or glass melt) in the center. The central green shape represents a stylized flower or plum blossom motif (Ume). The dish features a distinctive scalloped or ruffled border that adds texture and mimics petals.
